About Sarastea

About Sarastea

Sarastea is a Finnish secondhand store focused on Y2K fashion, early 2000s style and statement pieces you won’t necessarily find in regular clothing stores.

Our selection includes standout jeans, hoodies, tops, skirts, accessories and other pieces inspired by the iconic style of the 2000s. The collection is constantly evolving, with new pieces and fresh drops added regularly.

Many of our secondhand items are one of a kind. Once a piece is sold, the exact same one may never come back. That is part of what makes secondhand shopping so exciting — every piece has its own style, its own story and the chance to begin a new chapter with a new owner.

How Sarastea Started

Sarastea was founded by Sara Sepponen in Finland in 2026.

The idea grew from a passion for entrepreneurship, secondhand fashion and especially the style of the 2000s. Before starting Sarastea, Sara had already been selling pre-loved clothing online and gained hands-on experience in selling, pricing, customer service and understanding what people were actually looking for.

Over time, that interest developed into the idea of creating something bigger.

Sara noticed a growing demand for distinctive Y2K pieces. Great denim, statement cuts, embroidery, low-rise fits, fuzzy hoodies and pieces that truly captured the spirit of the early 2000s were highly sought after — but they were not always easy to find.

That is how Sarastea began.

The goal was to create a place where people could discover exciting secondhand pieces without spending hours searching through thrift stores or scrolling through thousands of online listings.

Sarastea started as a small Finnish business, but from the very beginning, the vision has been to build a recognizable brand of its own.

Why Y2K?

Sarastea is heavily inspired by the fashion of the 2000s.

Y2K fashion is bold, fun and full of personality. Think statement denim, embroidery, rhinestones, low-rise fits, unique washes, prints, fuzzy details and clothes that are meant to be noticed.

At Sarastea, we are not interested in building a collection based only on what is neutral, safe or made to suit everyone.

Quite the opposite.

Clothes are allowed to have personality.

They are allowed to stand out.

And most importantly, they should feel like you.

Carefully Curated

We do not add products to Sarastea simply to make the store look full.

Every piece is chosen with the Sarastea aesthetic in mind.

We especially look for items that fit into our Y2K and secondhand world and have something special about them — whether that is a great cut, an unusual detail, a standout wash, embroidery or a strong early-2000s feel.

Secondhand pieces are checked before being listed, and we aim to describe their condition as openly as possible. Naturally, pre-loved clothing may show signs of wear, and any noticeable flaws are mentioned in the product description whenever possible.

A secondhand piece does not need to look brand new to be worth wearing.

What matters is that you know exactly what you are buying.

Our Values

Sarastea is built around individuality, honesty, secondhand fashion, accessibility and entrepreneurship.

Individuality is at the heart of our collection. We believe everyone should be able to dress in a way that feels like them. Fashion can be a way to express yourself, experiment and create your own style.

Secondhand is a major part of Sarastea’s identity. We want existing clothes to stay in use for as long as possible instead of being forgotten in wardrobes or thrown away while they still have plenty of life left in them.

Honesty means being clear about condition, measurements and possible flaws. A secondhand item is allowed to look secondhand — what matters is that the customer knows what to expect.

Accessibility means that personal style should be possible for as many people as possible. Sarastea offers pieces at different price points, in different sizes and through a constantly changing collection.

Entrepreneurship is also an important part of our story. Sarastea has been built from the ground up by doing, experimenting and learning along the way.

Secondhand Is Never the Same Twice

Secondhand shopping works differently from shopping at a traditional fashion chain.

If you find the perfect pair of jeans at Sarastea, there may not be ten identical pairs waiting in stock.

There might only be one.

That is what makes every drop different.

Our selection changes constantly depending on the pieces we find and the pieces our customers fall in love with. Something available today could be gone tomorrow — and the next drop could look completely different.

That element of surprise is part of Sarastea.

More Than an Online Store

Sarastea is not just a place where clothes are listed and sold.

We are also building a community and a brand through social media, where we share new finds, upcoming drops, products and the journey of growing Sarastea.

TikTok is an especially important part of the brand. It gives you a chance to see pieces before they launch, follow upcoming drops and get a glimpse of what is coming next.

Sarastea is evolving just like our collection — constantly.

Small Business, Big Plans

Sarastea is a young Finnish business, but the vision reaches far beyond where we are today.

Our goal is to grow the online store, develop Sarastea into a recognizable Y2K brand, serve customers across Finland and gradually expand internationally.

At the same time, we want to hold on to what started it all: the excitement of finding an amazing secondhand piece.

No matter how much Sarastea grows, the idea stays the same — finding clothes that make you want to wear them the moment you see them.

The Sarastea Promise

We want discovering a new piece at Sarastea to feel like finding the perfect hidden gem at a thrift store.

That moment when you see something and instantly think:

“This is so me.”

That is why our collection is always changing, new pieces keep arriving and every drop is a little different.

Welcome to find yours. ♡
